Ein Forschungsteam am Karlsruher Institut f\u00fcr Technologie (KIT) hat n\u00e4mlich ein innovatives Verfahren namens NECOC entwickelt, mit dem aus dem klimasch\u00e4dlichen CO2 aus der Luft reiner Kohlenstoff hergestellt werden kann. Das Projekt wurde von der Gips-Sch\u00fcle-Stiftung mit einem Preisgeld von 50.000 Euro belohnt. Ein weiterer Preis in H\u00f6he von 15.000 Euro ging an die Deutschen Institute f\u00fcr Textil- und Faserforschung in Denkendorf f\u00fcr ihr nachhaltiges Spinnverfahren namens &#8222;HighPerCell&#8220;. &#8222;W\u00e4hrend die Politik wegen der Erderw\u00e4rmung nur \u00fcber Verbote diskutiert, ist die Wissenschaft schon viel weiter. Ich bin \u00fcberzeugt, dass vor allem Forschung und Wissenschaft die Herausforderungen der Zukunft l\u00f6sen k\u00f6nnen und ich freue mich sehr, dass die Gips-Sch\u00fcle-Stiftung so herausragende Projekte in Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg mit diesen Preisen unterst\u00fctzen kann&#8220;, sagt Stefan Hofmann, Vorstand der Stuttgarter Gips-Sch\u00fcle-Stiftung.<\/p>\n<h4>Das Gewinnerprojekt im Detail<\/h4>\n<p>Das KIT-Team unter der Leitung von Benjamin Dietrich konnte eine Anlage entwickeln, die Kohlenstoffpulver aus CO2 in der Umgebungsluft herstellt. Dieses Pulver, auch &#8222;schwarzes Gold&#8220; genannt, findet in verschiedenen Produkten wie Batterien, Farben, Kunststoffen und der Landwirtschaft Verwendung und wird normalerweise aus fossilen Rohstoffen hergestellt. Die NECOC-Technologie ist besonders umweltfreundlich, da sie CO2 aus der Luft entfernt und die Herstellung des Pulvers ohne fossile Brennstoffe erm\u00f6glicht. Somit k\u00f6nnte das Verfahren zum Erreichen des 1,5-Grad-Ziels beitragen, indem es \u00fcbersch\u00fcssiges CO2 aus der Atmosph\u00e4re entfernt und speichert, ohne die industrielle Produktion zu beeintr\u00e4chtigen.<\/p>\n<h4>Das macht die Stiftung<\/h4>\n<p>Die Gips-Sch\u00fcle-Stiftung in Stuttgart f\u00f6rdert Wissenschaft und junge Forschung in Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg, insbesondere in den MINT-F\u00e4chern und interdisziplin\u00e4ren Projekten. Sie unterst\u00fctzt Stiftungsprofessuren, vergibt Stipendien, unterst\u00fctzt die Anwerbung von Abiturienten f\u00fcr MINT-F\u00e4cher, bietet Lehrerausbildung und f\u00f6rdert politische Bildung.
